AARP Safe Driving Course

SOUTHBURY — An AARP Driver Safety Course is being offered by Brownstein Jewish Family Service on two Wednesdays, February 18 and 25, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Jewish Federation, 444 Main Street North. In Connecticut, individuals over 60 typically qualify for an insurance discount of at least 5 percent upon successful completion of the course.

Many insurance companies may extend larger discounts — participants should check with their agents.

The course requires no physical, written, or on-the-road driving tests, and no government agencies, health insurers or physicians are notified. Participants are encouraged to register early, as class size is limited.

The fee for the two day course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers.  Checks should be made out to AARP.
