A Concert For Young People

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre will present the Danbury Symphony Orchestra in a family concert for youngsters of all ages on Sunday, January 25, at 3 pm. The concert will be performed at Danbury High School, 43 Clapboard Ridge Road (Route 39). 

Two featured soloists will join Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Ariel Rudiakov. Flutist Eun Sun Choi, a senior at Kent School, and the winner of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, will perform the Flute Concerto in D by Danish composer Carl Reinecke. Also tap dancer Devin Johnson, a senior at Burr & Burton Academy in Manchester, Vt., will perform the Tap Dance Concerto by the American composer Morton Gould.

Special guests will also include the Danbury High School Symphonic and Concert Bands under the direction of Nick Albano. These groups will perform overtures, dances and folk songs including Galop by the Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich.
