VNA Says ‘Wear Red In February’ For Women’s Heart Health

The Newtown VNA will host a kick-off breakfast to encourage everyone to wear read during February to help raise the awareness of the dangers of women’s heart health. The Kick-Off Blast will be on Tuesday, February 2, at My Place Restaurant on Queen Street, beginning at 9 am.

Dr Robert Grossman and Dr Thomas Draper will be on hand to make introductions and pass out information, and both will be joining VNA members by wearing some red. The event will also include a cardiologist from Danbury Hospital as its guest speaker.

“The Newtown Visiting Nurse Thrift Shop at Edmond Town Hall,” said VNA Treasurer Mae Schmidle, “will also participate in the health event [a kick-off to Heart Health Month] by offering all red clothing at half price during the month of February. I plan to do a lot of shopping.

“Most importantly, we want all women to be aware of the concerns for women’s heart health,” she added.

All are invited to join VNA members for the kick-off breakfast. For additional information about the event, Heart Health Month, or VNA-Newtown, contact Mae Schmidle at 203-426-3018.
