Trinity Church Donates Funds For Haiti
Trinity Church Donates Funds For Haiti
Trinity Episcopal Church has donated $2,000 to ease the suffering in Haiti.
âWe partner with the Episcopal Relief and Development,â said Sue Roman, warden of the Newtown church. âThey are on the ground and know where the need is greatest.â
This is the first phase of a campaign from Trinity and the Episcopal Church worldwide. Episcopalians throughout the world have been asked to pray for the victims and survivors in Haiti. Connecticut Bishop Andrew Smith encouraged parishes in the diocese last week to make a special appeal for money to help.
The Episcopalian Relief & Development is the compass resource of the Episcopal church to suffering worldwide. More than 95 percent of funds donated go directly to programs.
âWe are fortunate to partner with the ER&D,â said Ms Roman. âThey truly embody their motto to âSee and serve Christ in all people.ââ
