Official Reminds Taxpayers About New Office Location

Newtown Tax Collector Carol Mahoney reminds residents that anyone wishing to make their January property or supplemental auto tax payments in person must do so at the new Municipal Center at Fairfield Hills. Ms Mahoney said her office is being inundated with calls from taxpayers who are asking where to pay their bills now that the tax office has moved from Edmond Town Hall on Main Street.

And others are eventually showing up at the new office after unsuccessfully visiting Edmond Town Hall, or attempting to leave tax payments at that facility.

Ms Mahoney said a drop box at the former location is also closed — taxpayers should not attempt to drop local tax payments at the Main Street location. The new Municipal Center is located approximately 1.8 miles from Edmond Town Hall.

From Edmond Town Hall, residents can travel south past the flag pole to the second traffic light at Mile Hill Road; go left to the first traffic light; go right into the Fairfield Hills complex and through the first stop sign.

The municipal center is on the right with free parking surrounding the facility. The tax office is open weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and for taxpayers’ convenience, Saturday, January 30, from 9 am to noon.

Taxpayers can call 203-270-4320 for more information.
