Celtics: Offensive players leaders were Tess Davenport and Shannon Jackman and the defensive standout was Olivia Grant.
Ferocious Sunflowers: Offensive players leading the way were Karsen Pirone and Megan LeBlanc. Top defensive players were Anna Cartelli and Jenna Gonski.
Blue Monkeys: Carly Carpenter and Kaley Meisenhiemer led the offense and the leading defenders were Anelaide Meier and Grace Bertsche.
Cheese Doodles: Leading offensive players were Jenna LaVelle and Katie Dirga and leading defenders were Kim Buttery and Genevione Murray.
Firecrackers: Top offensive players were Kelsey Pearson and Carolina Stubbs and the top defensive players were Alison Kelleher and Juliet Cryder.
Purple People Eaters: Ashley Solomon and Angela Carriero led the offense and Ryssa Swanson and Kendra Saunders were standouts on defense.

Orange Crush 18, Yellow Bananas 12: For the Crush, Catherine Rizk and Erin Burns led the offense, while Camryn Findley, Allie Reczek and Alexis Mason were aggressive on defense. For the Bananas, Jemma Petit and Kira Smith controlled the offense, while Danielle Powell and Lauryn Ankers were tough on defense.
H20 20, Hot Tamales 9: For H2O, Ally Nuzzo and Lucy Draper were great on offense, while Catherine Shaw and Larkin Huffman were strong defensively. For the Tamales, Sarah Dowling and Lauren Carrino led the offense and Kaitlyn Child, Katie Bassett and Danielle Otero led the defense
Jolly Ranchers 11, Dark Sharks 11: For the Ranchers, Riley Mulligane led all scorers with Elizabeth Weisgerber and Heather Azzarito controlling the boards. For the Sharks, Jukia Haskins dropped in a few baskets, while Sarah Brittin and Maggie Alexander were strong on defense
Grade 5
Newtown 32, Bethel 24: Megan Goyda stepped up and led the team with 16 points. Oylivia Shaw added 6 points and Kamdynn Moroney contributed 4 points. Haley Conrad played great defense and for the second game in a row, and blocked another three shots to make it that much more difficult for Bethel to find the hoop.
Intermediate â Grades 5-6
56ers 11 Predators 8: Anna Buzzanca had 4 assists, Nicole Russo had 6 steals and CDassidy Datin had 3 rebounds. The Predators were led by Aimee Talbot with 6 points.
Celtics 32, Purple Wave 12: For the Celtics, Michaela Jackman had 12 points and Carly Kreshpen and Daniela Mola led with 5 assists and 4 rebounds respectively. The Purple Wave were led by Kayla Disibio with 6 points and Kayla Kordish had 3 assists. Caroline Caporale and Claire Swanson had 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Emma Sheridan played strong defense throughout the game.
The Storm 25, Da Bears 11: In a battle of unbeatens, strong performances were put forth by Lucy Helgren, Julia Bogduoff and Emily Montoya. Strong defense and a big runs led the Storm to victory.
The Hawks beat the Funky Monkeys in close game (score not reported). The Hawks were led by Kayla Ward who scored 6 points. Chloe Amante and Sarah Spillane contributed on offense, and Joanna Vidola and Diana Kirkman played tremendous defense. Amanda Albanesi overcame early foul trouble and scored 10 points. Erin Tressler had 4 assists, Lauren Cirone had 5 steals, and Natalie Shaker had 8 rebounds.
Grade 6
Newtown 25, Ridgefield 24: In a league match, Newtown squeaked out a victory over a tough Ridgefield team, which they had not beaten in three previous tries. Caitlin Linden, Maren Brady and Lauren Wilcox defended a six-footer and kept her scoreless. Haley Ryan and Katie Mossbarger kept the ball away from the feisty defenders.

Midgets
Magic vs Golden Retrievers: Griffin Cross, Gavin Connors and Michael Sheridan initiated the fast break offense for the Magic and the constant defensive pressure was directed by Charlie Asetta, Ayden Kasbarian and Mark Leonardi.
The Mighty Squirrels vs Red Heat: Forrest Anderson, Liam Creeden and Ben Nowacki were offensive machines for the Squirrels. Reed Hammond, Timmy McCarthy and Bryan Ingwersen provided end-to-end play with an emphasis on strong defensive skills. All players on the team had a good showing. The Red Heat offense was led by Danny Schreiber, Logan Flynn and some great shooting by Luke Fisher. The Heat got great defensive play from Jared Tod, Andrew Gardner and Ryan Burns.
Slimers vs Ghostbusters: Chris Maturo, Kyle Cascone and Jack Hannan dominated a very balanced Slimersâ offensive attack, while Luke Sansonetti, Vincent Genovese, Brandon Giglio and Thomas Hartley were relentless on the boards and defensive side of the ball.
Grade 5
The Dawgs 16, Blues Brothers 13: In a close defensive game, the Blues Brothers fell short. Offensive player of the game for the Brothers Peter Clifford led the team with six points, five rebounds and three steals. Will Huegi chipped in five points and also had four steals. Robert Lombardo played a strong game defensively with three steals of his own. Defensive player of the game Wille Whitlock swarmed the opponents throughout game and had an assist. Next week, the Blues Brothers look to get back into the winning column after consecutive close game defeats in which they were only trailing by a single point within the last minute of the game. The Dawgs played a solid game with offensive punch from Ryan Marusi, Jack Riley and Benjamin Dieckman. The defense was led by Tim Jaeger, Peter DeBona and Adam Beckett.
March Madness 23, Tigers 19: The comeback victory was led by spirited team defensive effort, with March Madness allowing six points in final two and a half quarters. Offense was provided by Connery Mayer (12), Chad Azzarito (five) and Chris Anesi (four). The Tigersâ offense was led by David Usher, Spencer Burden and Conor Brennan. The defense was led by Timothy Cervera, William Corbett and Austin Kasbarian.
Destiny 31, The Blue Devils 30: The Destinyâs offense was led by Thomas Addessi, Zachary Anderson and Ryan Brello. The defense came from Cameron Mitchell, Brandon Pavlicek and Tyler LaCroce. The Blue Devilsâ offense was led by Noah LaFerriere with seven points, and Jack Palermo and William LeMay combined for seven. Defense was led by Evan Kohlsaat, Justin Gillespie and Braden Marcinek.
The Green Monster 21, The Lightening 20: In its first defeat of the season, the Lightning was led on offense by Steven Moccio and Kevin Arther who combined for seven points. They were helped by Michael Liberante who scored once and had two assists. RH Clark was strong on the boards with five rebounds. Philip Coffey and Bradley Wiseman had excellent all around games, combining for four points, three boards, and four steals. Joey Conrod and Matt Frazzetta rounded out this excellent defensive effort for the Lightning with a combined three rebounds and Three steals. The Green Monsters were led offensively by Christopher Mok, Gino Pagliaro and Jacob Steinebrey. The defense was led by Paul Whitaker, Matthew Kugler and Matthew Guinee.
Grade 6
New Milford 55, Newtown Gold 35: Ryan Shaw scored 10 points and Mason Melillo added nine (all via 3-pointers). Tim VanderHave made his debut at point guard and scored six points. Geoff Santore added a basket and was strong on the defensive glass. Kieran Lynch had several steals in transition.
Danbury 46, Newtown Gold 35: Ryan Shaw scored eight points to go along with his 11 rebounds. Matt Elias and Mason Melillo (two 3-pointers) each scored seven points. Austin LeBlanc scored five points (one 3-pointer) and had two steals. Alex Gerbo pulled down nine rebounds.
Newtown Gold 38, Wilton 36 (OT): Matt Elias hit a layup with five seconds left in overtime to get Newtown back in the win column. James Frazzetta led a furious 10-point fourth quarter comeback with six points and five steals in the first four minutes of the quarter. For the game, Elias and Frazzetta each scored eight points. Ryan Shaw had eight points and 14 rebounds, while Matt Maturo tallied six points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
Danbury 58, Newtown 50: Jared Pearson scored 12 points and Andrew Svanda worked hard under the boards and scored six points. Devin Luzietti scored five and Jamie Cocharane scored four, and both had great defensive games.
Celtics 54, Magic 49: Jake Oliger led the Celtics with 19 points with Max Weber adding eight points. James Carney was the assist leader with nine handouts. George Salaris was the defensive standout with three steals and Matt Campbell led the team with six rebounds. Matt Davis led the Magic with 14 points and Max Donaher added another 10 points. Tim LeBlanc was the assist leader with five. Hunter Booker led the defense with nine rebounds and had assistance from Peter Winans in transition.
Thunder 41, Huskies 31: Christian Thanasoulis led the Thunder with a season-high 23 points and Thomas Gavel added nine points. Dylan Tyrell was the assist leader with five. Kevin Chernoff led the defense with six rebounds and Sean Dalton had key steals on defense. Nick Bourgeois and Matt Stewart led the Huskies scorers with six points each. Connor Flint led the team in assists with three. Tommy Elliott led the defense with six rebounds and John Delrossi had four rebounds.
Wolfpack 24, Hurricanes 20: Nick Rohrbacher and Robert Katrinak led the Wolfpack scoring with six points each. Tucker Kistner led the team in assists with five. Andrew Drap led the defense with four steals and Daniel McCarthy had five rebounds. For the Hurricanes, James Accousti scored 11 points. Jackson Cryder led the team with three assists. On defense, Matt Meyers led the team with five steals and Andrey Masser had six rebounds.
Grades 7â8
Celtics 58, Runninâ Rebels 38: For the Celtics, Tim Kelly was the high scorer with 22 points. Jon Sherman led the team in assists and rebounds. Matt Baldino was the defensive star. For the Runninâ Rebels, Jimmy Leidlein was the high scorer with 19 points, followed by Shane Quimby with nine. Alec Clark led in assists, Mason Galanis was the defensive star and Dominic Scarangella was the rebound leader.
Eagles 35, Huskies 28: For the Eagles, Julian Dunn was the high scorer with 20 points. Joe Santella led the team in assists, Pat Carello was the defense star, and Sean Kemsley the rebound leader. For Huskies, Ty Runkle was the high scorer with six points. Owen Gaston was the assist leader, Bryce Decker was the defense star, and Nadimul Haque the rebound leader.
Bricklayers 41, X-Men 21: For the Bricklayers, Pat Afriyie was the high scorer with 17 points, followed by Conor Miller with 11 points. Kaustav Mitra led in assists, Timmy Widmann was the defensive star and Andrew King the rebound leader. Pat Afriyie had five blocks. For the X-Men, Greg LaRussa and Michael Dinielli were the high scorers with 11 points combined. Matt Barra led in assists, Brennan OâSullivan was the defensive star and Tom Floros rebound leader.
Vipers 36, Magic 30: For the Vipers, Stephen Grasso was the high scorer with 12 points, followed by Stephen Walsh with 11 points. Baxter Hankin was the defensive star and Ryan Whitton the rebound leader. For the Magic, Riley Cross and Garrison Buzzanca were the high scorers with eight points each. Mitchell Steward was the assist leader, John Eron the defensive star and Colin Morrissey was the rebound leader.
Bricklayers 42, Hammerheads 32: For the Bricklayers, Conor Miller was the high scorer with nine points, followed by Pat Afriyie with seven. Jaret DeVellis was the assist leader, Connor Lemay was the defensive star and Nate Steinebrey the rebound leader. For the Hammerheads, Spencer Brindley was the high scorer with 13 points. Jeremy Fellin was the assist leader, Jordan Salvesen was the defensive star and Ryan Szalay the rebound leader.
Heat 46, Wildcats 35: Matt White and Jeff Peterson combined for 20 points and eight Heat players scored. Andrew Pfeiffer played a nice all-around game. For the Wildcats, Patrick Rowley was the high scorer with 12 points. Patrick Berger was the assist leader. Eric Cascone and Mitchell Godin played well on both ends, and Sean Reilly had a strong game.
Cavs 58, Wolfpack 35: Drew Tarantino was the high scorer with 28 points. Matt Wood was the defensive star and Graham Hubbert was the rebound leader. William Swain scored 12 and Mike Norberg 14. Luke Rustici and Tommy Catalina played well. For the Wolfpack, Virgil Procaccini was the high scorer with 19 points. Trever Palmer was the defensive star and Aidan Peterschack the rebound leader.
Thunder 46, Wizards 40: For the Thunder, Ryan Wagner was the rebound leader. The Thunder used a well balanced scoring attack. Grant Rickets scored 17, Nick Lotrecchiano had 11, and Connor Ryan and Zach Weiland each scored 8. For the Wizards, Deegan Beauchemin was the high scorer with nine points. Scott Gregson was the assist leader, Michael Unschuld was the defensive star and Tom Rahr was the rebound leader. Michael Unschuldâs aggressive defense late in the game helped bring the Wizards back from an 11-point deficit.
Jazz 40, Nuggets 22: For the Jazz, the defense was led by Daniel Hamula and Liam Decker. The offense was led by Otto Kerler and Harry Depuy who combined for 30 points. For the Nuggets, Andrew Cragin was the high scorer with ten points followed by Matt Janco with six points. Harry Duffy was the assist leader, Danny Winn was the defensive star and Carl Whippie was the rebound leader.
