Betty May Bedford

Generous And Loving

Betty May (Conley) Bedford, 86, of Shelton, died January 15, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident.

 Mrs Bedford is survived by five children, including Elizabeth Lopato of Newtown; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her cat. She was predeceased by her husband, Archibald Bedford, Jr, and a brother.

She was a retired librarian for the University of Bridgeport. Prior to this, she was employed at Spector’s Jewelry in Trumbull. Mrs Bedford was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed reading, music, poetry, and creating cards, generously remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.

Funeral services were held January 18. Interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery.
