Joan A. Sorgen, 80, of Sun City Center, Fla., died January 20 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, with her family at her side. Born in Fall River, Mass., a daughter of Arthur and Marie Dionne Pepin, she was a longtime Monroe resident until moving to Florida in the mid-1980s.

Her children, Timothy Larkin of Newtown, Susan Larkin of New York City, Sandra Larkin of Reading, Mass., and William Larkin of Fort Myers, Fla.; and her brothers, Arthur Pepin of Iva, S.C., and Ronald Pepin of Trumbull, survive Mrs Sorgen. She also leaves six grandchildren, Kathryn Rotella, Margaret Rotella, Benjamin Krowitz, Natalie Krowitz, Ryan Larkin, and Erin Larkin. In addition to her parents, her sisters Suzanne McAuley and Jacqueline Pepin predeceased her.

A wonderful cook, Mrs Sorgen enjoyed entertaining, and loved dogs.

Funeral services will take place at 10 am, Monday, January 25, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends will be received from 9 to 10 am, at the funeral home.
