Devoted To Family

Michelle (Urbanowicz) Welkes, 41, of Northfield, N.H., died suddenly, January 11, after a brief illness.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Brittany Welkes; husband, Henry Welkes; her mother, Susan Campbell of Newtown; two uncles, including Peter Campbell, and his wife Ginny, of Newtown; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved “Pops,” Frank Adams; and two uncles.

Ms Welkes was currently employed as a home health aide, a job that she really loved. She was very devoted to her family and after taking care of her grandmother for many years, she decided to pursue a career in health care. She had previously worked as a waitress at Art’s Restaurant in Stratford and the Three Door Restaurant in Bridgeport. She was a very compassionate person.

Funeral services took place January 17, in the Pistey Funeral Home, Stratford, and at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be held in the spring, at St Rose Cemetery, Newtown.
