Jane I. Hubbard, 81, died January 10, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, Fla. She was born in Peekskill, N.Y.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Henry Hubbard of Newtown, and John Robert Hubbard of Torrington; seven siblings; and seven grandchildren.
She moved to Barefoot Bay, Fla., from Danbury, where she had been employed as a machine operator with the National Can Company until retiring in 1984. She lived in Florida for 26 years.
Mrs Hubbard was active in her retirement, and she enjoyed working, almost until her death. She enjoyed her many friends and was especially active in the Barefoot Bay Democratic Club. Mrs Hubbard was an active member of St Lukeâs Catholic Church where she served as an usher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Saturday January 22, at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call in Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Friday, January 21, from 7 to 9 pm.
