Behavioral Services Slates Therapy Groups For Youths, Parents

NEW MILFORD — New Milford Hospital Behavioral Health Services has announced the following youth, adult, and family development therapy groups to be held starting this month at 23 Poplar Street, located just north of the hospital on Route 202.

An initial consultation is required before participation. For information and referrals, call 860-354-3762.

Adolescent Social Skills Group For Ages 6–12. Facilitator, Joseph J. Ubaghs, LCSW.

Wednesdays for six weeks starting January 26 from 5 to 6 pm. This group will focus on peer relationships, self-esteem building, conflict resolution, successful coping skills and effective communication skills.

Parenting Today’s Adolescent Group. Facilitator, Barbara Freuler, LCSW

Wednesdays for six weeks starting January 26 from 5 to 6 pm. This group is for parents of children attending the Adolescent Social Skills Group.

Teen Self Discovery Group For Ages 13–17. Facilitator, Joseph J. Ubaghs, LCSW.

Wednesdays for six weeks starting January 26 from 6 to 7 pm. This group will focus on developing a more positive outlook, reducing stress and anxiety, anger management, assertiveness, relationship and communication skills.

Parenting Today’s Teen Group. Facilitator Barbara Freuler, LCSW.

Wednesdays for six weeks starting January 26 from 6 to 7 pm. This group is for parents of teens attending Teen Self Discovery Group.

Expressive arts therapy will be utilized to facilitate the process with materials provided by Connecticut Children’s Services Inc.
