To Workshop With Pilobolus

Pilobolus Dance Theater, based in Washington (Conn.), is world renowned for its imaginative athletic exploration and creative collaboration in the world of dance and movement.

The Pilobolus Institute, the educational arm of Pilobolus Dance Theater, is joining with The Graceful Planet in Sandy Hook to offer a unique opportunity to the community: a Pilobolus Master Class

opens the inner world of Pilobolus’ collaborative creative processes in a form accessible to anyone with good health and mobility. The class may include investigations of solo and group improvisation, exploration of compositional methods, and examination of individual and collective performance technique.

Training in dance is not required, although a reasonable degree of fitness is advised. Participants are expected to be physically energetic and prepared to move enthusiastically. The work will be both fun and deeply challenging. 

There are two groups forming for this exciting event: a Kids Workshop, for ages 8-13, and a teen and adults workshop. The workshops will be held after school and in the evenings of Thursday and Friday, February 3-4, and also on Saturday, February 5. There will be a performance opportunity for the groups to share their work with the community.
