The Harsh Life Of Animals

To the Editor:

This is a special letter that I am hoping will make a difference, or even make it to the press. This letter is written by a 12-year-old, who is at least trying to make a difference for creatures in our community and everywhere. I doubt this will work, but I still have hope. Peta.com has missions every month to help animals everywhere. It could be from raising some money for animal shelters to writing letters to circus companies. Now, what I’m writing about is the latest mission, sending a letter to your local paper, which is what I’m doing.

As you should know, or are about to find out, Wet Seal, a clothing store, that teens and kids like to shop at sells some clothing is made from real bunny fur. Now, kids my own age were outraged about this and called peta.com. OK, well I’m here to protest about this. I’m a believer in animals, living among us without harm. This may sound corny, but how would you like it if you were being run over by cars or shot at by “big gamers.” Well, I can tell you now, I wouldn’t like it, it would make me angry. Well, besides that point that you would die, it would be short and painful, right? Well, what about being defurred, that’s basically like getting the skin ripped off you. Now lets see, would you like to be drowned, electrocuted, or we could just break your neck? Well, lets see, drowning, long and slow, AKA not pleasant, electrocuted, well, you could still live but, be in pain, getting your neck broken, wouldn’t be too pleasant either.

Now, that’s not the worst part. But, if you were a bunny that was going to be defurred well, you don’t live a good life. You live in tight cages, where you barely have any room to move around, and they’re filthy! You’re not protected from any type of weather, whether it’s rain, the burning hot sun, or freezing temperatures, no wonder they die off easily. And if they have diseases they’re not taken care of, the bunnies just suffer until they die. Now, isn’t that nice? I don’t think so.

On top of that. It’s pointless to wear fur, you’re killing innocent beings and you could just wear faux fur. It’s not like the fur’s what’s keeping you warm, it’s the coat, and you can barely tell the difference between real fur and faux fur any way.

So why don’t you make a difference? Don’t wear fur and save lives!

Call any Wet Seal near you and tell them you’re boycotting! Join the chain!
