Openings In Choral Society

SOUTH BRITAIN — Connecticut Choral Society (CCS) has begun rehearsals for its 25th anniversary season, and a few openings remain.

Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:15 until 9:45 in the Fellowship Hall of South Britain Congregational Church, at the corner of Route 172 and East Flat Hill Road.

Registration begins at 7 pm. Interested choral singers in all voice parts are invited to audition and should call 800-555-5250 for an appointment.

Founded  in 1980, the Connecticut Choral Society, Inc. is an ensemble of auditioned singers from more than 20 towns in Connecticut. Under the direction of John Robert Liepold of New York, its members are committed to provide a music resource for Connecticut, to encourage singing and performing choral music of the highest artistic quality, and to stimulate a greater appreciation and enjoyment of choral music.

CCS is are considered one of the region’s premier choruses and has appeared numerous times at Carnegie Hall, as well as on network television.

The group will perform its spring concert, “French Impressions,” featuring Poulenc’s Stabat Mater and Durufle’s Requiem, on Friday, April 29, at in St. Peter Church in Danbury.
