Medical Town Meetings

DANBURY — The newly appointed cardiothoracic surgery chief of The Regional Heart and Vascular Center at Danbury Hospital will be the guest speaker on the topic, “Delivering Open Heart Surgical Services to Greater Danbury – From Vision to Reality” in the Danbury Hospital auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue, on Tuesday, February 8, from 7 to 8:30 pm.

The speaker, Michael M. Frymus, MD, is board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery and has more than 20 years of experience and interest in adult cardiac surgery. Dr Frymus came to Danbury from Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, where he has served as a staff cardiothoracic surgeon at the Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center and an assistant professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine since 1992.

Andrew M. Keller, MD, FACP, FACC, chief of cardiology and medical executive of the Cardiovascular Service Line, will facilitate the evening program.

Park free in the Blue Visitor’s Parking Lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.

A Medical Town Meeting discussing “Bodywork For Arthritis — Exercise Your Options” will be conducted on Tuesday, February 22, from 7 to 8:30 pm at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium.

Featured speakers will be Melissa Ferrandino, a physical therapist; Laurie LeMasurier, occupational therapist; and Paul Mirabito and Robert Morse, exercise physiologists. The speakers are specially trained professional staff at Danbury Hospital’s Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center. They will discuss and demonstrate why exercise is an integral part of a comprehensive arthritis treatment plan.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings are free, monthly health and wellness programs open to the public. No RSVP is required. Program-focused literature, a prize drawing, and light refreshments also will be provided.
