Tim Frawley popped in 22 points – 13 of those in the first half – as Garage Door nipped Southbury Printing, 70-69, in Men’s Basketball League action at The Gym at Newtown.

Joe Brown canned 17 points and Seth Fredricks added 12 more for Garage Door. Brian Rodden and Tony Willie combined for 17 points. For Southbury, Steve Platt had 25 points as Mike Kosh (14), Chris Watson (12) and Fred Plescie (10) all went for double figures.

Daguan canned 30 points and Rudy added 23 more as My Place Pizza slipped past Total Pool & Spa, 80-79. Bob Rogers popped in 10 points for My Place as Scott Lavelle poured in 35 points to lead Total Pool. Kevin Barrett canned 14, Frank Galante added 11 and Gary Jossick tossed in 10.

Pat Sullivan scored 28 points and Dave Samoskevich added 13 to lead Newtown Phone Book to a 72-58 win over LSC. Steve Hordos added 16 points. For LSC, Brian Huber canned 19 points while Liam O’Keefe tossed in 16 and Joe McCluskey added 12.

Jeff Haddad poured in 24 points – with the aid of five three-pointers – to lead The Gym at Newtown to an easy 86-58 win over Svanda Painting. James Perkins added 17 points for The Gym while Marcus chipped in 14. For Svanda, Todd canned 23 points while Mark Svanda added 19.

Women’s Basketball

Lisa Shang scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Walsh Logging got back on the winning track with a 39-37 win over Newtown Mobil in Women’s Basketball League action at The Gym at Newtown.

Mobil led for most of the game, but Walsh chipped away at the lead and held on for the win. Tracy Paella added nine points and four rebounds as Joanne Duncanson chipped in seven points and eight rebounds. For Newtown Mobil, Amy Proulx canned 22 points with eight rebounds and three steals. Laurie Bain added six points and eight rebounds as Kelly Pinckney and Karen Katrinak combined for nine points and 11 rebounds.

Shelby Neveriski poured in 25 points as Alpine Realty cruised past Colorgraphics, 66-44. Tori Anderton added 20 points as Kelly Fengler chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. Laurie Miller and Sherri Baggett combined for eight points. For Colorgraphics, Alex Heron and Rachel McGrath dropped in 12 points apiece while Colleen Ruiz chipped in 11 points and five rebounds. Denise Passano chipped added nine points.

Mel Darrah canned 20 points and Jaime Murphy added 13 points and seven rebounds to lead The Gym at Newtown to a 61-53 win over Dr Gellert. Jen Thomas chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds as Christy Hardy and Carolyn Signorelli combined for 14 points and eight rebounds. For Dr Gellert, Holly Ferguson had a game-high 37 points with six rebounds. Laurie Cook added 10 points.
