25-Year Employee Of Norwalk Hospital
Mary Ruth Banning, 65, of Norwalk, wife of Oakley Banning, died January 15 at Norwalk Hospital. She was born in Norfolk, Va., September 27, 1940, a daughter of Paul and Marie Moore Evans.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Katherine Mayor and her husband, Steven, of Sandy Hook, Susan Banning and Cynthia DâAcunto and her husband, Louis, all of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Steven O. Mayor, Melissa, Amanda and Louis DâAcunto, Jr; a brother, James Evans of Wilton; two sisters, Margaret Cerulli of Ridgefield and Susan Davis of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Banning was predeceased by siblings Anna Phillips and William Lohning.
She had been with Norwalk Hospital for 25 years, prior to retiring from the business office last year.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, January 19, in St Thomas the Apostle Church, Norwalk. Burial followed in Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford.
