Mary C. Fontaine

Ellenville Central School Teacher

Mary C. Fontaine, 62, of Ellenville, N.Y., a resident since 1973 and a fifth and sixth grade teacher for the Ellenville Central School, died January 17 at Sloan-Kettering Hospital. The daughter of William and Mary Coughlyn Carroll, she was born December 21, 1942, in Bridgeport.

Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Fontaine of Ellenville; son, Bill Fontaine of Newtown; daughter, Marjorie Fontaine of Fairfield; granddaughter, Blair Fontaine; and sister, Marjorie Carroll of Old Bridge, N.J.

She was a communicant of The Church of St Mary and St Andrew, Ellenville, a member of the educational sorority Delta Kappa Gamma, was awarded Mother of the Year in 1982 by the Ellenville Elks Lodge 1971, was formerly active in the AFS, in the ETSRPA, and was very active in the community.

A Memorial Mass in the Church of St Mary and St Andrew, 137 South Main Street, Ellenville, will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, January 21. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 25, in St Andrews Roman Catholic Church, 395 Anton Street, Bridgeport. Arrangements by Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville. There will be no calling hours.
