A Great Dark Secret Of WWII
Cathryn Prince will discuss her new military book, Shot from the Sky: American POWs in Switzerland, on Thursday, February 9, at 7:30 pm, at C.H. Booth Library.
In her book, Ms Prince reveals one of the great dark secrets of World War II: how neutral Switzerland shot down U.S. aircraft entering Swiss airspace and imprisoned the survivors in internment camps. More than 1,000 American fliers spent a part of the war as internees in Switzerland.
Ms Prince currently writes for The Christian Science Monitor and The Weston Forum and has been an adjunct professor at Columbia Universityâs Graduate School of Journalism and also at Boston Universityâs School of Communications.
An author reception with light refreshments will follow the talk and books will be available for purchase at that time.
C.H. Booth Library, at 25 Main Street Newtown, can be reached at 426-4533 for additional information.
