Nora Gearin Bardo, 72, of Concord, N.H., formerly of Danbury, Conn., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Nora was born March 28, 1949, to the late Mildred (Carusone) and John Gearin. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 46 years, Brian; daughter, Amy Greif, and her husband, Robert, of Needham, Mass.; son, Jeffrey Bardo of South Carolina; two granddaughters, Olivia and Charlotte Greif; brothers, Jack Gearin and Dan Gearin; along with many nieces and nephews.

Nora was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Gabriel Bara-Bardo, and two sisters, Pamela Fagan and Melissa O’Neill-Angeloni.

Nora lived in Norwalk, then in Newtown where she attended St Rose School and graduated from Newtown High School in 1967. She attended Duquesne University. After raising her children, she returned to graduate from Western Connecticut State University and became a graphic designer at Scholastic Books. The Bardos traveled many times to seek out world art and spiritual renewal in Florence, Italy and Paris, France.

Throughout her life, Nora had a deep love of art and design, literature, and the welfare of children. She was a genuine person — caring, thoughtful, sensitive yet resilient. Nora was openly honest and took pride in sharing her beliefs with deep conviction and often with quick wit and humor.

Above all, she will be remembered for her remarkable generosity toward those less fortunate or in need of emotional care, as well as to her friends. Widely accomplished in all artistic endeavors, she was an expert designer/creator of exquisite keepsakes.

Her family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by Granite VNA & Hospice and Alzheimer’s and Hospice Respite Care LLC.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Nora’s memory can be directed to the MassBay Community College Gabriel Bardo Scholarship Fund at massbay.edu/give.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 1 to 2:30 pm, with a Chapel Service at 2:30 pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord, NH 03301.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bennett Funeral Home of Concord, N.H.
