1987 Newtown High School Graduate

Sharon A. Hensel, 38, of Danbury, died January 15 at home. She was born in Danbury, February 14, 1968, a daughter of Joan (Husted) Hensel of Sandy Hook and the late Donald Hensel.

Ms Hensel was raised and educated in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1987. She was a client of Ability Beyond Disability and resided in one of its group homes.

In addition to her mother, two brothers, Don Hensel of Long Island, N.Y., and Duane Hensel of New Milford; two sisters, Jane Babasick of Brentwood, Tenn., and Marianne Golembeski of New Milford; and five nieces and nephews survive her. A sister, Joanne Hensel, predeceased her.

A funeral service was scheduled for 7 pm, Thursday, January 18, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment in Zoar Cemetery will be private. Calling hours were at the Honan Funeral Home, Thursday, January 18, from 5 to 7 pm.
