Opening day for SCAN Color in January Show & Sale, 9 am–5 pm, Lexington Gardens, 32 Church Hill Road, free show and sale presented by members of The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, landscape demonstration by pastel artist Dick McEvoy at 12:30, opening reception 2–4 pm, show of 200± framed works in oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylics, mixed media and illustrations will continue daily until January 28; 426-5283.

Flu shots, 10 am–noon, Newtown Senior Center, 16 Riverside Road, influenza shots will be administered by Health District and Newtown VNA, bring insurance card (shots not covered by insurance will also be free); 270-4291.
