ANTIQUE IN SCHOHARIE WILL BE MARCH 3–4 w/2 cuts

avv/gs set 2-12 #688136

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. — The Antiques in Schoharie show, presented by the Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association, will be held March 3–4.

With more than 100 dealers, this primarily country show features quilts, blanket boxes, cupboards, chests of drawers, tables, brass and china, paintings, books and postcards. Show promoters set standards to ensure dealers only present authentic antiques and collectibles.

This show routinely draws between 2,000 and 3,000 customers and always has a lineup waiting to get in. The show’s food café, made and served by members of the Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association, features a simple menu — hot chili, turkey soup, sandwiches and desserts.

Proceeds from the semiannual antique shows fund the ongoing historic activities of the Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association, which include the restoration and maintenance of the historic Schoharie Valley railroad grounds with its 1878 brick station house, other buildings and railroad cars; the 1743 Palatine House, the oldest building in Schoharie County; and the 1742 Lutheran Parsonage.

Antiques in Schoharie is presented with the help of the members of the Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association and other volunteers.

The spring show is held at the Schoharie Central School, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. Donation is $6, $5.50 with ad or coupon. Parking will be available either on the school grounds or at the Public Safety Building on Depot Lane, where showgoers will be transported back and forth by the big yellow school bus. Appraisals will again be available for a donation.
