New Semester For German Classes

DANBURY — The German Language School of Danbury will begin its new semester of Saturday classes for German language instruction for all levels on Saturday, January 29, at 9:30 am, at Immanuel Lutheran School, 35 Foster Street. Classes last for two hours each week and are available for children and adults, beginner through advanced.

Tuesday evening classes, from 7 to 8:30 pm, are also available.

Cockshure Island (later Hubbell Island) is a former island that was located one-third of a mile north of the Sandy Hook Bridge and was submerged after the construction of Stevenson Dam. Cockshure was a Pootatuck Indian who owned the island until 1733.
