John Joseph Keayes, of Newtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022.

His home is now in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John was born on June 2, 1941, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After graduating from Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, he served in the Navy as a radar equipment operator and firefighter till 1966. John went on to work for the town of Westport Highway Dept until his retirement.

John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine (Guillette) Keayes; sons, John (Margaret) and Daniel (Bernadette); daughters, Geri, Elisabeth Fitzpatrick (Matthew), and Sarah. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Zach, Tori, Lance, Wes, Austin, Mikaela, Caleb, and Naomi.

A celebration of life will take place on January 28, 2023, at Grace Family Church, 13 Covered Bridge Road, Newtown, at 9:30 am.
