Color in January
Art Show & Sale, Jan. 19-27
One of winterâs popular events is SCANâs Color in January Art Show and Sale, which will return to Lexington Gardens, 32 Church Hill Road, January 19 through 27. The annual show presents original art by members of The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN).
SCAN is a non-profit organization that promotes fine art in western Connecticut by sponsoring workshops, classes, exhibits, and twice-monthly demonstrations by professional artists.
âColor in Januaryâ will be open daily from 10 am to 4 pm.
The public is invited to meet the artists and view the exhibit at the opening reception on Saturday, January 19, from 2 to 4 pm. Free demonstrations by fine artists will be offered at 12:30 on each of the four weekend days of the show and sale and will feature the following programs: January 19, Pat Barkman, watercolor landscape; January 20, Alain Picard, pastel landscape; January 26, Vince Giarrano, oil still life; and January 27, Beverly Branch, acrylic portrait.
