Hermanson

Army Veteran

Andrew “Drew” G. Hermanson, 85, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Frances Komornik Hermanson, died January 10 at St Joseph’s Manor, Trumbull. Mr Hermanson was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong resident.

 Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Beverly Bennett Schaedler and her husband, David, of Newtown; two sons, Perry A. Hermanson and his wife, Cathy, of Trumbull and John J. Hermanson and his wife, Jo Ann, of East Haven; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Hermanson.

Mr Hermanson was a retired toolmaker for the Acme United Co and after his retirement he was a manager for A II Radiator Co for 16 years. He was a World War II US Army veteran.

He was a member of the Senior Men’s Bowling League at the Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield and he also served as manager for the A II Radiator Bombers softball team. He was a kind and gentle person.

Funeral services were January 14 in Salem Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, with the Rev Robert Hoffman, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Mt Grove Cemetery of Easton.

The family thanks all the nursing staff and Pastoral Care Group for the care and comfort given to Mr Hermanson at St Joseph’s Manor.
