Workshop For Jewish Students
Workshop For Jewish Students
WOODBURY â The Federation: Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, Inc. invites all area Jewish students from seventh to twelfth grade to participate in a two-hour workshop called âConfronting Anti-Semitism.â
The workshops will be held on Sunday, February 13 at the Federation Office, 73 Main Street South in Woodbury. Seventh and Eighth graders will meet at 9:30 am and high school students will meet at 1 pm. Parents are encouraged to attend the morning session only. Waterbury Area Community Youth (WACY) extends an invitation to all high school students to come and meet their group at 12:15 pm for a pizza social.
Confronting Anti-Semitism (CAS) is a high-quality, interactive workshop conducted by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Professionally trained presenters engage students in age-appropriate dialogue on their thoughts and experiences about anti-Semitism, especially as it relates to peer relationships. After attending the workshop, students will be better able to develop tools to respond effectively to hurtful personal experiences involving bigotry.
This program is sponsored by the Federation: Jewish Communities of Western CT, Inc. It is made possible by a generous anonymous donation. There is no charge for this workshop and all Jewish students in grades 7 through 12 are welcome to participate. Transportation is available upon request. For more information, contact Abby Greenwald at the Federation, 203/263-5121 ext. 308.
