Swim-A-Thon

Saturday, February 5

At Newtown High School

In an effort to have the entire boys’ swim team take a step forward in its goal of becoming one of the elite teams in the South-West Conference (as well as to prepare for the SWC championship meet) the program will be taking a training trip to the US Aquatic Center in Orlando, Florida in February.

This trip is a first for Newtown, but has become a staple of the season for many of the area’s top-notch swim programs and even though the NHS swim program has improved steadily in the last nine years under the leadership of coaches Brian Reiff and Carl Strait, there is still more to accomplish.

The cost of the trip is $800 per swimmer – which is includes air fare, hotel, meals and training center fees.

All swimmers will be participating in the SWIM-A-THON. Swimmers will earn money by swimming laps – the more they swim, the more they earn. Donations or sponsorship of a Newtown swimmer would be appreciated.
