John Francis Pinto, 56, of Greenwich, died January 14. He was born in Bridgeport, April 22, 1957.

His sister Karen Pinto Kastner, and her husband Matthew, of Newtown, and their son Paul of Oakland, Calif.; three foster siblings, Sharon Unwin of Ventura, Calif., Dana Mastri, and his wife Heike, of Naugatuck, and Carol Mastri of Bridgeport; and Thomas Kush and family of O’Fallon, Ill., survive Mr Pinto. His “family” at the Cross Ridge group home run by Abilis, an agency for developmentally disabled people, where he happily lived and worked since 1994, also survives him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Muriel (Fitzpatrick) and Frank Pinto of Bridgeport.

Mr Pinto loved working in the greenhouse at Abilis. He also loved catsup (on everything!), pizza, flirting with the ladies, and telling corny jokes.

Internment will be private and arrangements are being handled by Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Trumbull. Friends and family may call at the home of Karen and Mat on Sunday, January 19, from 1 to 5 pm.
