IRS Problem Solving Day

HARTFORD — The IRS is offering to meet face-to-face with taxpayers from Waterbury and the surrounding area who have long-term, unresolved federal income tax problems.

Taxpayers can call 860/756-4556 to make an appointment for the next IRS Problem Solving Day, which will be held on Tuesday, January 25 from 12:30 until 6:30 pm at the IRS field office at 14 Cottage Place in Waterbury.

Taxpayers will be able to sit down with IRS employees who are knowledgeable about their problems. Key IRS decision-makers will be on hand to help iron out solutions.

The IRS launched its Problem Solving Day program in November 1997 following concerns about taxpayer treatment. Sessions have been held each month at different locations. Taxpayers who have unresolved tax problems but who cannot attend the January 25 session can get help at any time from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service office by calling 1-877/777-4778.
