CAMPUS NOTES

Kira Elizabeth Nelson was named to the semester honor roll at the University of New Hampshire. A 1997 graduate of Newtown High School, Kira is majoring in art education.

Kathryn Pease of Shut Road, Newtown, was named to the dean’s list at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a culinary arts major.

Lindsay Ruth Warness of Sandy Hook was named to Washington State University’s President’s Honor Role for academic excellence. To be eligible, a student carrying at least nine graded hours must earn a 3.75 grade point average or better for the term, or maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

Rex Krueger of Newtown was named to the fall 1999 dean’s list at Southern Connecticut State University.

Michael James Payne, son of Mr and Mrs Paul D Payne of Newtown, was named to the undergraduate dean’s list at Vanderbilt University. Michael is working on a degree in the school of arts and sciences.

Katherine Speirs, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jeffrey Speirs of Boggs Hill Road in Newtown, has been named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College for the 1999 fall semester. Katherine is a junior at Hamilton, majoring in sociology; she is a graduate of Newtown High School.

Laura Elizabeth Ermini of Meadow Road, Newtown, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the State University of New York at Stonybrook, Long Island, with a grade point average of 3.54. Laura is the daughter of Janet Shier and Tom Ermini, both of Newtown. She is a Spanish studies and literature major, and a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School.
