Theresa Ann (Grande) Long, 81, of Newtown, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024. Born on December 1, 1943, in New York City, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Celia Grande.

Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived a life centered on family, love, and generosity. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michele Long, and her dear daughter, Tracey Ann Long. She leaves behind her daughter, Theresa Gordon, and son-in-law Rick; her son Michael Long, and daughter-in-law Gina; her son Joseph Long, and daughter-in-law Doris; as well as her treasured grandchildren: Tracey Gordon (Matt), RJ Gordon (Emily), Michael Long (Melissa), Thomas Long (Katelyn), Joseph Long (Jasmine), and Sarah Long (Sean).

Theresa’s life was a testament to selflessness and resilience. She worked tirelessly to support her family and was deeply involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives through school, scouting, sports and community activities. A passionate animal lover, she rescued and cared for many dogs over the years. Known for her boundless generosity and compassion, Theresa was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors alike. Her kind spirit and unwavering concern for others left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Her legacy of kindness, strength, and love lives on in her children and grandchildren, who continue to carry forward her generous spirit. Theresa will be fondly remembered for her warm smile, her steadfast dedication to those she loved, and the countless joyful memories she created with her family.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held on Monday, January 27, at 11 am at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Newtown. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Holy Innocents building.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause that was close to Theresa’s heart.
