Catherine T. Knoll, 90, of Waterbury, formerly of Sandy Hook, died January 14 at The Hearth of Southbury. She was the widow of Stephen J. Knoll, her husband of 57 years. She was born in New York City December 6, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Eva and John Rentler.

Ms Knoll was a resident of Sandy Hook from 1957 until 2005, when she moved to Waterbury. She was a typesetter at The Newtown Bee for many years. She retired in 1989 from Fairfield Hills Hospital where she worked as a secretary.

A son, Stephen J. Knoll, and his wife Patricia, of Thomaston; one grandson, Stephen D. Knoll of Thomaston; and several nieces survive Mrs Knoll. Her brother, John, and her sister, Elizabeth, predeceased her.

The funeral will take place Monday, January 19, at 8:30 am, from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street, Waterbury, to St Augustine Church, 35 Washington Avenue, Seymour, for a Mass at 10 am. Burial will follow in St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook. Calling hours are Sunday, January 18, from 2 to 5 pm, at the funeral home.
