SCAN’s Color In January Art Show And Sale At Lexington Gardens This Month

One of winter’s bright events is The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown’s annual Color in January Art Show and Sale at Lexington Gardens. The show will return to 32 Church Hill Road this year on Saturday, January 24, and continue daily through Sunday, February 1. Hours each day will be 10 am to 5 pm.

Color in January presents original art by the organization’s membership. All work will be for sale.

The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Saturday, January 24, from 2 to 4 pm.

Painting demonstrations by prize-winning, professional artists will be a special feature of the show. Dick McEvoy will paint a pastel landscape on Saturday, January 24, and Anda Styler will paint an acrylic landscape on Sunday, January 25.  The following weekend Rick Daskam will paint an oil landscape on Saturday, January 31, and Adele Moros will paint a floral watercolor on Sunday, February 1. All demonstrations will begin at 12:30 and are free of charge.

SCAN is a non-profit organization that promotes fine art in the western Connecticut region by sponsoring workshops, exhibits and twice-monthly demonstrations by professional artists.
