Occupation: I’m the owner of The Fitness Loft here in Newtown. I’m also a strength conditioning coach with athletes in the community, and I do a lot of wellness programs through Parks and Recreation.

Family: My wife, Jennifer, and I have three children: Aiden is 6, Ava is 4, and Christian is 7 months old.

Pets: No pets right now. I love dogs, but I don’t see how we could pull it off right now with the business and three kids keeping us so busy.

How long have you been in Newtown? We’re coming up on our fifth year in the spring.

What do you like to do in your free time? If I had more free time, I’d probably want to pursue hobbies that I don’t have time for now, like photography.

Do you have a favorite sports team? The New York Giants. I’m very excited that they made it as far as they have this year.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? Before we had kids, Jen and I took a trip to Europe a few years ago. We were both just overwhelmed. Florence, Italy, was absolutely beautiful, from the food, to the people, to the landscape.

What is the best thing about Newtown? What’s been neat for Jen and I is that we have seen firsthand how people rally behind each other. It’s overwhelming. That, for us, has been very gratifying to be a part of, through the gym. Every time we put ourselves out there to do something, we have this wave of support.

Do you have someone who you admire? I’d have to say my mom. She raised me by herself pretty much, and if I have any positive qualities, she’s the one who instilled them.

Do you have a personal philosophy? It’s a slogan that I first saw in the NHS gym, “Make It Happen.” Then when we started building the gym we ran into a lot of things that seemed way beyond us that we had to do. One day I thought of that slogan and I wrote it on a piece of sheetrock and it stayed up until this place was done, as a visual reminder. It encompasses my philosophy that you can always find a way to make it happen. There’s always a way to succeed.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you pick? I think I’m at that stage in life where I’m living in the present. This gym has been a dream of mine since I was a kid — helping people and the idea that we’re involved in the community. And we’re raising our kids in this moment. It’s the most significant phase of my life.
