Evelyn Cecilia (Worgull) Oakley, 81, of Southbury, died January 3. She was born and raised in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Gus and Cecilia Worgull.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Francis Oakley, and daughters Cecilia Marino and Eileen Brooks of Newtown.

Mrs Oakley earned an RN from St Mary’s School of Nursing of Brooklyn and a BS in School Nurse Teaching from St John’s University. She was active in nursing in various hospitals and nursing homes in Westchester County, N.Y., before retiring in the early 1990s.

She was  a devoted mother to her six daughters.

Funeral services took place January 6. Burial was in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.

The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere was in charge of arrangements.
