NEW YORK CITY — Hasted Hunt announces an exhibition by Paolo Ventura titled “Winter Stories.” The exhibition consists of large format color photographic narratives of life in a fictional Northern Italian town in the late 1950s. There will be an artist reception and book singing on Thursday, February 28, from 6 to 8 pm. The show will continue through April 12.

“Winter Stories” scenes are somber streetscapes and interiors and cheerier parts of a circus. The artist says this series is about “your memory of yourself,” the visions that might tumble out during a person’s last minutes of life.

This is Ventura’s second exhibition with Hasted Hunt, and follows his international gallery debut with “War Souvenir” in 2006. Ventura was commissioned for a 12-issue feature in The New York Times Magazine, illustrating the fiction of the prominent author Michael Connelly. His work has been exhibited internationally, including Moscow, Rome, Arles and Milan. He lives and works in both Brooklyn and Milan. Aperture will publish Winter Stories in the Fall of 2008.
