CINCINNATI, OHIO — Cowan’s will offer a rare Hubley cast iron Palmer Cox brownie sleigh ($15/18,000) as part of its dolls, toys, advertising and coin-ops auction January 26–27

A variety of dolls, mechanical banks, spool cabinets, coin-op machines, tin toys and advertising signs will be offered during the two-day sale at Cowan’s Auctions new showrooms at 6270 Este Avenue.

A Tete Jemeau 10 bisques socket head child doll is expected to bring $4/5,000. Other highlights include a Shephard Stump Speaker cast iron mechanical bank, a French mechanical pond boat with rower, a Rosenfield oak floor model stereo viewing machine and an outstanding mahogany Brainard & Armstrong spool cabinet.

A chromolithographed tin sign portraying a polar bear atop an iceberg has a $1,5/2,000 estimate. The sign features Polar Bear Chewing & Smoking Tobacco made by Cincinnati company Luhrman & Wilbern.

Cowan’s will offer previews on Friday, January 25, from noon to 6 pm, and Saturday and Sunday between 8 and 10 am, when the sale will begin.
