Winter Birding Along The Shoreline

On Sunday, January 25, Lillinonah Audubon Society is planning a winter birding trip to the Connecticut shore. World-class birder Ed Hagen will lead the outing to Hammonnassett State Park and other points along the shore, including the Connecticut Coastal Center in Milford and Great Meadows in Stratford.

Participants will search for wintering loons, grebes, sea ducks, hawks, and owls, as well as land birds such as horned lark and Lapland larkspur. The group will visit several sites but will not spend too much time out of the car.

Those planning to join should be at the commuter parking lot off I-84 Exit 14 by 8 am and can expect to return by midafternoon.

The public is welcome and there is no fee.

Call Mary K. Harmon, 264-4124, for additional reservations.
