HIV Prevention Group Meeting
NEW HAVEN â The Connecticut HIV Prevention Community Planning Group (CPG) will hold its first meeting of 2004 on Wednesday, January 21, from 9 am to 3:30 pm, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel Street.
The CPG is a community-based group of Connecticut residents working with the Department of Public Health (DPH) to develop a comprehensive HIV prevention plan for the state.
Free copies of the 2004 update of the 2002â2004 Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan will be available during the meeting.
The major topic on Januaryâs meeting agenda is a presentation by CPG advisor and DPH AIDS Surveillance Unit epidemiologist Ken Carley and CPG Health Department Co-chair Chris Andresen on evidence-based data factors in the CPGâs priority setting process.
HIV prevention and care service providers and members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting and will have the opportunity to participate in the process and ask questions during the public comment period at 9:10 am. The CPG is seeking new members and advisors and nomination forms will be available at the meeting.
The public can access information on community planning in Connecticut on the CPGâs website at www.connhivcpg. The website features CPG-related material and links to numerous local and national resources for HIV prevention including the DPH website. DPH also has a community planning related website that can accessed at www.dph.state.ct.us/BCH/AIDS/cpg/cpg_home.htm.
