Animation Contest At WestConn
DANBURY â The Graphics Research Group (GRG) at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) will host AniFest â04, its third festival to feature computer animation created by college students and faculty, later this year.
The university is now accepting works for the festivalâs juried student animation competition and exhibition. Students attending a college or university in New York and the six New England states, including Connecticut, are invited to submit works for the competition.
The student competition is one of the highlights of the annual festival, scheduled to run April 27â 29.
âThe festival will again put the spotlight on student works in the Northeast, and it will provide people with a snapshot of animation both in industry and academia,â said GRG Director Dr William Joel, a professor of computer science at WCSU.
Entries will be judged on content, design, originality, technical excellence, and artistic merit. Selected works will be displayed in a continuous loop during the three-day festival, which will also feature a panel discussion with speakers throughout the industry April 28 at 7 pm in the WCSU Student Center.
Submissions should be sent via CD or DVD and not exceed five minutes in length. Deadline is February 28.
