Trees For Trout A Successful Event
To the Editor:
I would like to send thanks to The Bee for the great write-up in the December 28th edition of Ink Drops, supporting our Trees for Trout event.
The Candlewood Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Pootauck Watershed association had a very successful Christmas tree collection on Saturday, January 5, and The Bee played a major part in our success, as most people who donated trees said they “saw it in The Bee.”
I would also like to thank Boy Scout Troop #270 of Newtown for bringing the trees they collected to our event instead of sending them to be disposed of. The boys and their parents worked hard despite the rainy and cold conditions and helped us collect over 60 trees, which will be used this spring for our conifer revetment work on Deep Brook and the Pootatuck River.
Both The PWA and CVTU thank all those who donated, volunteered, and supported our Trees for Trout event.
Sincerely,
Mike Fatse, CVTU President, PWA Board Member
