Kind And Loving

Jean M. (O’Neill) Leary, 71, died after a long illness, January 11, at St Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. She was the loving wife of Arthur J. Leary. Mrs Leary was born on November 25, 1938, a daughter of Eugene T. and Evelyn (Mulcahy) O’Neill.

Besides her husband of 39 years, Mrs Leary is survived by her daughter, Monica Bray and her husband, David H., of Newtown; one grandson; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a nurse’s aide for the Waterbury VNA for many years. She was a very smart and kind woman who helped everyone. She was a courageous woman who put up a valiant fight against her disease. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church for more than 35 years.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 15, at 9:30 am, from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, to Saints Peter and Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled at the funeral home, Thursday evening, January 14, from 4 to 7 pm.
