SOUTHBURY — The public is invited to join Newtown resident and award-winning artist Roberta Shea to learn why the motto for New Britain Museum of American Art is “Where Art Meets Life.”

Shea, who is also a docent at NBMAA, will give a “What is Art?” talk at Arts Escape on Wednesday, January 18, beginning at 1 pm.

Shea’s talk will cover her artistic journey as a painter, a teacher in the Monroe School System, an exhibiting artist, as well as her recent experience as a docent at New Britain Museum of American Art. A discussion will follow the talk.

Cost for the program is $15, and registration is required. Visit artsescape.org and then click on the green Go button under Lecture & Literature or call 203-586-1474 to learn more and register.
