On February 22, members of the St Rose parish and friends will gather together and celebrate as a community at its fourth Crystal Ball Gala. The gala is returning after a six-year hiatus. It will be held at The Waterview, just over the town line in Monroe.

The evening, with a theme of “A Celebration of Community,” promises to be exceptional, with fine dining and open bar, dancing to an 11-piece orchestra, and live and silent auctions.

The live auction features many unique experiences including a foursome of golf at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester and a day trip to West Point Military Academy including a private tour and theater production.

As with the past galas, the funds raised will help the growing parish sustain its community outreach programs and ministries offered on its campus. In addition, this year’s theme is meant to express the underlying reason for this year’s gala.

“Our theme this year centers around Newtown and the extraordinary sense of community each of us witnesses every day in this town,” Monsignor Weiss explains. “It’s been six years since our last Gala, and a special evening like this where we can simply enjoy each other and our continued strength as a community seems long overdue.”

The first two galas, held in 2006 and 2007, netted over $130,000 for expansion efforts on the parish grounds. The most recent gala, “Starlight Dedication Ball,” held in 2008, took place in the Monsignor Robert Weiss Gathering Hall on parish grounds, to celebrate its opening.

Event planning consultants Tracy Brady and Stephanie DeBartolomeo of Newtown, who co-chaired the first three Crystal Ball events, have returned to serve as co-chairs of this fourth installment.

Tickets are $125 per person and are available on a first come first serve basis. Contact Ms DeBartolomeo (203-515-1309) or Ms Brady (203-767-0670) to purchase tickets or for more information.

Sponsorships are still available, and donations for either of the auctions are still being accepted; contact Ms DeBartolomeo or Ms Brady concerning either of these.

“Our theme this year centers around Newtown and the extraordinary sense of community each of us witnesses every day in this town,” Monsignor Robert Weiss, pastor of St Rose of Lima Church, said of the theme for the 2014 Crystal Ball Gala. “It’s been six years since our last gala, and a special evening like this where we can simply enjoy each other and our continued strength as a community seems long overdue.”
