NHS Singers Readying For Madrigal Feaste, January 22
Under the guidance of Newtown High School Choral Director Jane Matson, students in the high schoolâs Singers group have been working after school toward hosting their annual Madrigal Feaste scheduled to be held January 22 at Stony Hill Inn, 50 Stony Hill Road, Bethel.
This yearâs Madrigal Feaste is set to ârob from the rich and give to the poorâ in a Robin Hood theme. Tickets for adults cost $38 and for guests 2 to 10 years old, tickets cost $17. The event is the groupâs yearly fundraiser for the NHS Choral Parents Scholarship Fund and Program Development.
The night will include dinner, entertainment, a silent auction, and âwhimsical nonsense,â the flyer for the program promises.
Students involved in the upcoming production are Brenna Calderara, Katie Cummings, Maddie Dorso, Kendall Euler, Jake Eventoff, Josh Goldman, Ishaar Gupta, Kamryn Harmeling, Chris House, Chris Hunter, Mikaela Kemsley, Alison Kron, Matt Madden, Katie McMorran, Dan OâConnor, Sarah Poarch, George Primavera, Michelle Spanedda, Ben Stoller, and Taylor Varga.
Madrigal songs like âJohn Farmerâs Fair Phyllisâ and more contemporary songs will be performed during the evening event.
