Middle Gate Reflections Program Winners

The Middle Gate PTA announced this year’s Reflections program winners on January 4. Seven students were named as category winners, and the winning student entries will go on to be judged at the state level of the PTA program.

The Reflections program is a national PTA program for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Judging was based on artistic merit, creativity, and interpretation of this year’s theme, “Together We Can.” Entries were accepted in two age-based groups:  primary, grades K-2. and intermediate, grades 3 and 4. The entries were also entered into six different categories: literature, visual arts, photography, music composition, dance choreography, and film/video.

This year, writing pieces by second grader Zachary Majeski, “Together We Can Recycle: the Recycling Poem,” and fourth grader Lindsey Gallagher, “Together We Can Conquer Anything Even Though It’s Difficult” were selected in the literature category.

First grader Abby Stites and third grader Taylor McPadden were chosen for their visual arts entries, “Untitled” and “Together Tree.”

In the photography category, the winning selections were created by first grader Siena Harper, “Together We Can Rule the World!,” and third grader Maddie Stites, “Together We Can Save the Earth by Keeping Clean Water.”

Fourth grader Rachel Swenson’s “Together We Can” was selected in the dance choreography category.

Second and third place awards were presented to the following students: Jackson Baimel, Emi Rosenthal, Isabella Wakeman, and Nicole Capozziello for Visual Arts; Abby Stites and Maddie Stites for Literature.
