*JANET JACKSON will bring her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal World Tour to Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, March 16, at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $50 and $70, and go on sale Friday, January 14, at 10 am, through TicketMaster. They will also be available at the casino’s box office beginning on Saturday, January 15, subject to availability.

*Also going on sale Friday morning will be tickets for FURTHUR — featuring Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Jeff Chimenti, John Kadlecik, Joe Russo, Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson — who will be at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Tuesday, March 8.

These tickets have been priced at $49.50 and $59.50 and will be available through LiveNation.com.

*On the local music scene, OLD SCHOOL will be back in town for another show at Proud Mary’s tonight (Friday, January 14). Showtime is 8 pm for that one.

Next weekend — Saturday, January 22 — Lou and Tony will be at Blue Chip, the restaurant and bar at 5 Eagle Road in Danbury (within Commerce Park, near Walmart), on Friday, January 14, 9 ‘til midnight.

Then on Friday, January 28, the guys will be back at Proud Mary’s, for another show beginning around 8.

*Also tonight, THE WAY-BACK MACHINE will be playing their take on classic rock from the 60s and 70s at The One-Eyed Pig, 71 South Main Street. The music starts at 9.

*THE JAY WILLIE BAND will be at The One-Eyed Pig on Saturday, January 29.

Meanwhile, Jay’s other band, The Jay Willie Blues Band, is celebrating the American release of The Real Deal. The album was released back in November by The Blues Boulevard in Europe and Australasia, but is now available through Amazon.com.

The band who performs on the album includes Jay on guitar, vocals, slide guitar and harmonica, and Bob Callahan on guitar and vocals, along with former Johnny Winter drummer Bobby T Torello on drums and vocals, and featured artist Tommy Shannon on bass guitar.

*Fresh from their tour with Ringo Starr’s All-Star band, THE EDGAR WINTER BAND and RICK DERRINGER will be at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, January 21, at 8 pm. Tickets are $60 and are still available through the box office (203-438-5795) or online, at RidgefieldPlayhouse.org.

*The MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods will be putting a few more shows on sale in upcoming weeks.

HARRY CONNICK JR & ORCHESTRA will be at the Mashantucket theater on Friday, April 22. Tuickets are $82.50 to $150 and will be going on sale Friday, January 28.

DARIUS RUCKER will have a headlining show at the same venue on Sunday, June 26. Those tickets will run from $30 to $50 and will be on sale Friday, February 4.

*Fairfield Theatre Company will host a co-headlining show by TAJ MAHAL TRIO and LOS LOBOS at The Klein in Bridgeport on Saturday, February 19. Tickets are on sale now for $35 to $72 (member discounts range from $5 to $10). Prices increase to $37 to $72 on the day of the show.

While speaking of Fairfield Theatre Company, THE JOHN LENNON SONG PROJECT, a seven-piece ensemble created and led by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step and Tom Dean of Devonsquare, will bring their tribute to Lennon’s words and music to FTC’s StageOne in Fairfield on Saturday, January 22.

Tickets are $27 ($22 for FTC members), and can also be purchased through the box office info offered just above.
