View Wintering Bald Eagles With Lillinonah Audubon

Dozens of bald eagles spend the winter in this part of Connecticut. Take the opportunity to see these wintering birds in Southbury at the Eagle Observation Area at Shepaug Dam on the Housatonic River. Staff members and volunteers are there to explain about the eagles, and the observation area is open to the public by reservation only through March 16 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm. To make reservations, call 800-368-8954 between 9 am and 1 pm Tuesday through Fridays.

For those who would like to join the Lillinonah Audubon Society on its scheduled trip to view the eagles, the society has arranged for a special visit to the dam on Saturday, January 22, at the above times and welcomes others who call ahead for a reservation.
